Stephen B. Mitchell Memorial Foundation

Mark Mitchell, our Director of US Land Operations, sponsors a golf tournament each year to honor the memory of his son, Stephen.

This golf tournament is held to benefit the Scholarship in Stephen’s name at Manchester High School. Stephen was a “Special” student at Manchester until December 9, 2000 when he passed away at his home. Shortly after the scholarship was established.

Stephen had spent all of his 18 years fighting an ongoing Seizure Disorder. He was a loving young man with a huge smile and an even bigger love for his friends and those students that worked with him in the Special Education Department. The students in the Community Services Program that worked with Stephen meant everything to him. They taught one another, and those around them, invaluable life lessons.

This Scholarship is awarded during the Senior Awards Assembly and is presented to the student(s) that has displayed the most genuine friendship and regard for those students they work with through the Community Services Program in the Special Education Department.

Since 2000, this tournament has helped students in Manchester High School achieve their dreams, contributing $9,500 through last year.
