Alder Hey Hospital was founded in 1914, and is regarded as the largest Children's Hospital in Western Europe. It speicalizes in bone marrow transplant, cardiology, craniofacial surgery, burns, and cancer treatment. The hospital was granted Royal patronage in 1985, and became a first wave Trust in 1991. The Trust has a first class reputation for saving the lives of sick children, treating more than 200,000 a year, from across the North West of England, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
ICL supports the efforts made by the hospital for its patients and their families. In April 2008, ICL donated GBP 1,000 to assist them in their efforts.
